How do you know if you have a Cockroach Problem?
Early detection is the key to winning the war against cockroaches. The sooner you find them, the sooner you can call a pest control professional to get rid of them, and the easier it will be for the exterminator to completely eradicate the nasty little buggers. To avoid a total infestation of roaches, call a trained professional if you recognize any of the following signs:
Dead or Living Cockroach
Obviously the clearest sign of a problem is the discovery of a roach either dead or alive in your home. Cockroaches are nocturnal (they come out at night), so if you see a live one during the day it’s usually a sign of a large infestation. Inspect your home, looking under sinks, inside cabinets, around the refrigerator, and beneath the stove for live and dead roaches.
Droppings
Many times the first indication of a cockroach invasion is the discovery of their fecal droppings. Cockroach droppings look something like coffee grounds or black pepper. Places in your house with large amounts of droppings are potentially high traffic areas for roaches.
Foul Odor
A large infestation of roaches can give off a very distinct and very nasty odor. If you detect an oil, musky odor in your home contact a pest control professional to schedule a cockroach inspection, because once you can smell the roaches, you already have a big problem on your hands.
